Position Description
Senior HIM Healthcare Consultant Position: Medical Learning, Inc. (MedLearn) seeks to add to its team a Senior HIM Healthcare Consultant. This position may be full-time, part-time or contract. There is no need for relocation, but travel up to 80% is required.
MedLearn is a nationally recognized consulting, publications, and training company that specializes in providing coding, reimbursement, compliance and educational services for hospitals, physicians and other healthcare organizations.
The Senior HIM Healthcare Consultant position will be responsible for performing on and off-site coding audits for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) services. Additional audits related to RACs, PERMs, CERTs, etc. may also be performed as well as Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Projects. This position will also require providing coding education to various groups such as coders, billers, nurses, physicians, etc.
Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 5 – 7 years experience working in a hospital or ASC as a coder. Previous consulting experience is a plus. A BS/BA in a respective specialty is preferred. Candidates must be credentialed in at least one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC. Licensed Practiced Nurse or Registered Nurse is also accepted.
All qualified candidates are required to take at least one coding test for this position. Coding tests are assigned based upon the experience stated in your resume. All assigned assessments must be completed.
