Job Description

This Opportunity

The Fuel Distribution System Mechanic maintains and repairs fuel storage and distribution systems, using hand and power tools and testing instruments, inspects fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges, (such as distribution lines, float gauges, piping valves, pumps, and roof sumps); inspects electrical wiring, switches, and controls for safe-operating condition, grounding, and adjustment, lubricates and repacks valves; lubricates pumps, replaces gaskets, seals and corrects pumping equipment misalignment, and cleans strainers and filters.

Your Impact

  • Services water separators
    • Checks meters for correct delivery and calibration
    • Overhauls system components such as pressure regulating valves
    • Disassembles, adjusts, aligns, and calibrates gauges and meters or replaces them
    • Removes and installs equipment such as filters or repair and replace system components
  • Corrosion control and repainting surfaces
  • Overhauling vacuum and pressure vents
  • Maintaining record of inspections and repairs
  • Maintains Refueling vehicles, Fleet vehicles and lawn mowing equipment
  • Fills in for Bulk Storage Attendant and Refuel Driver as needed
  • Shopping for Office and Shop Supplies as needed
  • Performs other duties as required

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Prior Military Fuels Operations/Maintenance Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation to and from Company office
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Comply with Company Drug and Alcohol policy
  • Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
  • Potential to work random weekends when required by Base Operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE Diesel experience
