Position Overview

The Medical Writer I is responsible for generating and preparing draft clinical genetic testing reports for review by genomic analysts, geneticists, and laboratory directors.

Location: The Medical Writer I will work onsite.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with a weekend rotation.

Essential Duties

  • Compile clinical genetic testing results and prepare a draft report.
  • Develop sample reports for client and sale inquiries.
  • Assist in the testing and validation of novel report templates using internal software.
  • Apply excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a particular proclivity to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues via interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to set priorities, multitask, and troubleshoot problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to become proficient with new software programs rapidly.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, Life Sciences Communication, or a related field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • Demonstrated strong grasp of genetics principles, specifically zygosity and genetic variant nomenclature.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with genetics terminology.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework in genetics.
  • Laboratory experience with DNA.

Salary Range:

$32,000.00 - $52,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Marshfield on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
